FAQ

Slack Return Policy?

Slack.com has a Fair Billing Policy. This policy applies to Slack plans and add-ons purchased via the Slack website and paid for by credit card or self-serve invoicing. When you purchase a paid plan for your workspace, you’ll be billed for all active members. Any changes to the number of active members in your workspace will be reflected in your next billing statement. If someone you’ve already paid for becomes inactive, a prorated credit will be added to your account for the unused time and this will be reflected on your next billing statement. If all members become inactive, you'll be billed for a minimum of one member, unless you decide to downgrade to the free version of Slack.

On paid plans, you’re billed for all the members of your workspace that are actively using Slack. Certain types of members are paid, while others are free. Paid members include Workspace Owners, Workspace Admins, Full members, and Multi-Channel Guests. Free members include Single-Channel Guests and Bots.

When an invited member accepts their invitation to join your workspace, they'll be billed as an active member starting that day. If you’re on a paid plan and add new members partway through the billing period, you’ll only be charged for the time used. If you pay monthly by credit card, the prorated cost will be calculated and billed the following month for any new members added. If you pay annually by credit card, the prorated cost for the rest of the year will be calculated, and you'll be billed at the end of the month for any new members added. If you pay annually by invoice and your workspace grows beyond the members you’ve already paid for, an invoice will be sent once per calendar quarter to settle any outstanding balances.

Paid members are only billable if they’re actively using Slack. Slack will automatically detect if members become inactive, and if that happens, prorated credits will be added to your Slack account. Those credits will be applied toward future payments, such as new members being added to your workspace or your next renewal date.
